Rehabilitation Overview/Orientation to VR System: New Counselor Training Series Part I

Presentation of the unique nature of the public vocational rehabilitation program; how it stands out among federal disability programs, its evolution over its almost 90 year history, and currently occurring changes.  Attention will be given to, and discussion will be had on, the topics of professionalism, national initiatives, and collaborative efforts strengthening the health of the VR program.

Course benefits: 

1. Increased understanding of the unique nature and capacities of the VR program.
2. Knowledge to operationally implement the objectives and nuances of the current Rehabilitation Act.
3. Prompt the resolve of participating Rehabilitation Counselors to establish themselves as professional, partnering, and promotional staff for the national and their state VR programs.
