Applied Ethics: 2010 Code

Target audience: Rehabilitation professionals in Region 8 interested in exploring ethical dilemmas within the context of the 2010 code. Participants in the July session are eligible for this session as submitted content will differ.
Overview: The session facilitator will lead the group in an analysis of peer submitted ethical dilemmas utilizing the 2010 CRCC Code of Professional Ethics.
Prerequisites: Prior to the session, participants must develop and submit two (2) ethical dilemmas, real or imagined, pertaining to the field of Vocational Rehabilitation. If real dilemmas are submitted, please take care to remove identifying information and modify the scenario as needed to preserve confidentially for involved parties.
Dilemmas are to be submitted to Matt Markve electronically at matthew.markve@unco.edu no later than Friday, September 3, 2010. Please include all necessary details surrounding your dilemmas (At least a paragraph or two). Not all received dilemmas will be utilized during the session. The presenter will make an effort to utilize as many different categories of dilemmas as is possible during the session.
Dilemma Areas of Focus:
Dilemma areas can include but are not limited to: The Counseling Relationship, Confidentiality, Privacy, Professional Responsibility, Dual Relationships, Cultural Competency, Use of Technology in Practice, and Relationships with Other Professionals
Format: Desktop learning session
Desktop sessions are a combination of lecture and discussion. This format offers the ability to ask questions and share insights on the subject matter. You can participate individually at your own computer workstation, or you can gather in groups at a central location if that better serves your work group. All participants need to formally register for the training session.
Set up requirements:
All you need to participate is access to a web browser and a telephone. Registered participants will be provided with a URL and phone number to access the training. These are easy to access, low-tech, no cost training opportunities.

Registration Deadline: August 31, 2010
CRC Credits: 1.5 contact hours can be verified for this session for individuals currently holding certified rehabilitation counselor status. To receive CRC verification you must be formally registered, and participate in the entire training time period.
